NOTHING TO SAY

Everybody’s standing around, talking about today
I can’t stop looking around
With no words left to say
Some people talk about what’s new and hip
I don’t give a hay
Keep asking me all these questions
But I’ve got nothing to say

GRENADE TOSSING MONKEY

V1
Out on the line with a bottle of wine
Just to pass the days through
He saw something funky, it looked like a monkey
He didn’t know what to do

V2
Well Eddy Frank, say he see something squirming
Might be a German too
Might be the weather, the heat or the letters
Getting to him too

C
Lots of calling, bombs falling
Something else off too
A hooting, hollering, grenade tossing
Little old monkey too
(Ooh ah hoo, ooh ah hoo)

V3
Little old Eddy, calm and steady wrote his papa too
“Well I killed four huns, shoot em and done”
But these were a little strange
They had tails and bananas, they were like little cannons
Throwing them grenades

C
Lots of calling, bombs falling
Something else off too
A hooting, hollering, grenade tossing
Little old monkey too
(Ooh ah hoo, ooh ah hoo)

V4
Well they’d go in the trenches
And make a little mischief too
They’d throw explosives, lay on their stomachs
A hooting and a hollering too

C
Lots of calling, bombs falling
Something else off too
A hooting, hollering, grenade tossing
Little old monkey too

End Tag
A little old monkey too
Oh a little old monkey too
Ah a little old monkey too

TENNESSEE

V1
Well I’m waiting on the world to change
Waiting for something
Waiting on anything, to come back to me
Waiting for the sun to rise
Waiting for a change of mind
I'm looking for the place that knows my face
And the fire in my eye

Pre Chorus
Where the mountain streams will take
Your slow breath away
And the rings of smoke will gently
Press against your face

C
Oh it means something to me
The land where I feel free
Ah send me in the mail through the Appalachian Trail
Down to sunny Tennessee

V2
Well what are you waiting for?
I thought we settled the score
A blow to the face, blood pressure raised
Higher than before
Waiting on this train to stop
You better bring a mop
I’m going to the place that knows my face
and the fire in my eye

Pre Chorus
Where the mountain streams will take
Your slow breath away
And where the rings of smoke will gently
Press against your face

C
Oh It means something to me
The land where I feel free
Ah send me in the mail through the Appalachian Trail
Down to sunny Tennessee

V3
Well I’m finally on my way
Man it’s been a day
Traveled all around, paid my rounds
to make some green
Finally I’m back home
Never again I’ll roam
I love the place that knows my face
And the fire in my eye

Pre Chorus
Where the mountain streams will take
Your slow breath away
And where the rings of smoke will gently
Press against your face

C
Oh It means something to me
The land where I feel free
Ah send me in the mail through the Appalachian Trail
Down to sunny Tennessee

WHERE DO YOU GO?

V1
When I find trouble in mind
I know where to go
When you seem a little uneasy
Oh it sure don’t seem to show

C
I can sing a line and it chills my spine
and it  takes me to a place like home
When the  whole world seems a little uneasy
 Where do you go?

V2
When you get lonesome and you break down
Where do you go
When that mockingbird makes that sound
do you walk on down the road

C
I can sing a line and it chills my spine
and takes me to a place like home
When the whole world seems a little uneasy
Where do you go?

V3
When I’m walking on down that road
I know where to go
When the train stops a rollin
I can hear the whistle blow

C
I can sing a line and it chills my spine
and takes me to a place like home
When the whole world seems a little uneasy
Where do you go?

V4
When everything seems like it’s falling
I know where to go
when the master starts a calling
I want to know where to go

C
I can sing a line and it chills my spine
and takes me to a place like home
When the whole world seems a little uneasy
Where do you go?

NOWHERE NEAR

V1
Out on The Mississippi, floating away
Out here stranded, got nowhere to stay
And I’m looking for someone who can help me
In some type of way

C
Well, throw a rope
Help me catch the line
Give me a float so I can keep on keepin’ on
Help me I’m, stranded way out here
And when the levee breaks, I’ll be
Way down the river, nowhere near

V2
Made my way from St. Louis to Memphis, Tennessee
All the while, people keep a looking at me
Have I made it this far
For no particular reason, it seems

C
Throw a rope
Help me catch the line
Give me a float so I can keep on keepin’ on
Help me I’m, stranded way out here
And when the levee breaks, I’ll be
Way down the river, nowhere near

V3
It’s a, long day, it’s a
Long Life
Gets even longer with a knife in your side, well
Help me I’m, stranded way out here
And when the levee breaks, I’ll be
way down the river, nowhere near

End Tag
And when the levee breaks, I’ll be
Way down the river, nowhere near
